Our Love
Story

We initially connected online then met on a sunny day at a local restaurant in Notting Hill then headed to a gin bar and the rest is history. As we talked and wandered, we found that we didn't want to go our separate ways. Before we knew it, the whole day had passed.

You Must Have Some Questions

Travel & Stay

Venue

The best option is to pre-book a local taxi a couple days before/go by car from your destination hotel/home:

Guest Arrival: 1.30pm for The Ceremony: 2pm at Omagh Meeting House at the Ulster Folk Museum Village Car Park,153 Bangor Rd, Holywood, BT18 0EU

The Reception: From 3pm at Cultra Manor, Ulster Folk Museum, 153 Bangor Rd, Holywood, BT18 0EU

Cultra Manor is located within the picturesque grounds of the Ulster Folk Museum which is approximately 7 miles east of Belfast, near Holywood on the main Belfast to Bangor Road (A2). An exclusive, secluded venue nestled in rolling countryside, just 10 minutes from the city centre.

Getting There

Travelling from aboard

For those traveling from different countries, we recommend flying into George Best Belfast City Airport, which is about 10 minutes drive from both Belfast City Centre and the wedding venue.  Alternatively you can fly into Belfast International Airport (Aldergrove), though this is considerably further away from the wedding venue and from Belfast City Centre. One can also fly into Dublin and travel to Belfast via coach / train, though this is a longer journey.

Travelling from the Airport

George Best Belfast City Airport

Taxis are available from a taxi rank at the airport, alternatively pre-booking a couple of days before with a local taxi company might be more cost effective.

Trains are available from Sydenham station, which is ~10-15 minute walk from the airport.

Belfast City Airport also has a designated bus (600 Service), which takes passengers to Europa Bus station, in Belfast City Centre. Please check timetables before travelling.

Belfast International Airport

Taxis are available from the airport, expect a lengthy drive (30-50 minutes) to Belfast City Centre.

There is a bus and coach service from Belfast International Airport to Belfast City Centre, please check the Translink Website for timetables beforehand. (Translink.co.uk)

Getting Back

Getting back from Cultra Manor Holywood to Belfast City Centre

If you are not driving, you will likely need a taxi to get back to your respective hotel/B&B/home.

We recommend pre-booking taxis from the area you are staying at a couple of days before.

Getting to and from Omagh Meeting House Chapel to the reception

It is about a 12 minutes walk or 3-5mins drive by designated taxis/mini-bus made available on the day

Taxi Services

List of Taxi companies in and around Belfast below, or alternatively you can ask the hotel/B&B you are staying at for their local taxi services. When getting a pre-booked taxi to the ceremony chapel venue for 1.30pm ask to be taken to the 'Ulster Folk Museum Village Car Park' as this is the nearest to it.

Q&A
  • When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP via the invitation email sent to you by 9th June
  • What will the weather be like this time of year?
The warmest months are July and August, which also offer the longest days with up to 18 hours of daylight. July in Northern Ireland boasts lovely mid summer weather. During the day, the weather in Northern Ireland should be beautiful, averaging 54-66 F (12-19 C). While relatively dry during July, please pack for an Irish rain shower. It also may get chilly at night. Please bring some warm layers for the evening.
  • What should I wear? is there a dress code?
Wedding formal attire please. Black tie optional
  • Are there any colours that guests should avoid wearing?
Please do not wear white and avoid royal blue.
  • What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
If you love stiletto heels, this event might not be the place to show them off. The grounds are filled with beautiful grassy areas that you might have to walk in so we suggest wearing chunky heels, wedges or flat shoes.
  • Will food be served?
Yes, there will be canapes served during cocktail hour and a sit down dinner at the reception. There will also be late night snacks provided to make sure you are fueled up to dance the night away!
  • What if I have a dietary restriction?
Please input any dietary requirements to the question prompt on this topic as you RSVP via the invitation email.
  • I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?
Please refer to the Travel section for our recommended hotels, cottages and B&Bs.
  • Is there transportation being provided between reception and hotels?
If you are staying in town, please pre-book a local taxi a couple of days before to and from the venue. Information on local taxi services can be found in the travel section. Some additional availability with local taxis has been reserved in the late evening as well.
  • Where should I park?
For those driving anywhere from Northern Ireland to the venue locally, there is plenty of free parking on the grounds at Cultra Manor. If you are staying in town, we suggest parking there and booking a taxi from your hotel or Airbnb.
  • Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Please put your phones, ipads away during the ceremony. We will have photography and videography on hand at the scenes to capture the precious moments.
  • Is there a gifts registry?
We are happy and blessed to have you attend our wedding and your presence means the world. No gifts required, but should you wish to donate to our Honeymoon fund please access the link / pay pal details for bank transfer.
  • How can I help the couple have the best time during their wedding day?
Eat, drink, dance and be merry!
  • Are kids welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this advance notice means you’re able to let your hair down and celebrate with us on the day! We appreciate the effort you have made by pre arranging childcare so you can celebrate with us.
  • Whom should I call with questions?
Please send any questions to our email: bgwedding23@aol.com or use the chat feature on our website
  • What should I do if I can’t make it?
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
